Driver’s licence A driver’s licence is required to operate a motor vehicle and is issued pursuant to the Traffic Safety Act. A person shall not drive a motor vehicle on a highway unless that person’s driver’s licence is in that person’s possession. On the request of a peace officer, a person driving a motor vehicle shall produce their subsisting driver’s licence, insurance, and registration.
